Responsible use & reporting abuse

Recast requires that everyone who uploads a replacement face or voice confirm they have permission from every person whose likeness appears in the result — both the original subject and the replacement. This page is for two audiences: people deciding how to use Recast responsibly, and anyone (user or not) who believes Recast was used to create content showing them without their consent.

What Recast doesn't allow

• Sexual or intimate content involving a real person's likeness without their consent.
• Any content depicting a real person without their consent — this is the rule everything else follows from.
• Impersonating someone to deceive, defraud, or harass them.
• Political disinformation — fabricated statements or events involving public figures, intended to deceive.
• Anything involving anyone under 18, in any capacity.
See our Terms of Service for the full list.

Requesting removal of content showing you

Email support@recast-face-swap.com with:
• A description of the content (what it shows, roughly when you encountered it).
• A link to it, or a screenshot, if you have one.
• How to confirm it's you, if that isn't obvious from the content itself.
We review and act on these requests promptly. Separately — and regardless of any request — every file uploaded to Recast is automatically deleted within 24 hours of processing, so most content is already gone from our servers on its own; a request helps us track down anything that was shared elsewhere by the person who created it.

If you're deciding whether to use Recast on someone

Get their agreement first, for both the original media and the replacement face or voice. If you can't get that agreement, don't proceed — this isn't optional, and accounts that violate it are terminated.
